No clue is this celebration partied anywhere else but her, mid-summer week-end (google; juhannus) is propably biggest thing right after christmas…err..maybe even bigger.
Today, sun is in it's highest point from looking here, and practically north parts of Finland can see sun over all night. Yes, sun wont go down at all.
Common stuff is that we drink, go sauna, burn big flames wich we call as juhannuskokko (http://images.google.fi/images?hl=fi&q=juhannus%20kokko&btnG=Google-haku&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi)
we drink bit more, we go back to sauna and drink bit more…Sad part is tah usually it takes 10 to 30 drown peoples every year plus some deaths in car accidents since our roads are full. Also, juhannus is date when everyone usually wants to start their summer holidays.
Anyway, we dont have river or lake near so we need to survive with beer, sauna and barbequed meet only :)
